It is not often a film is so controversial it effectively finishes the career of its director, but that's just what happened to Michael Powell following the release of 60s horror pic Peeping Tom.
British critics condemned the movie as filthy and tasteless, but will modern audiences be similarly repelled? Ant Timpson certainly isn't and he doesn't think you should be either.
