Parliament's cleaners have given Prime Minister John Key a stern message - he should prepare to clean his own office.
The cleaners earn just 5c more than the minimum wage of $12.50 an hour, and they want Mr Key to personally help them or face the consequences.
The Service and Foodworkers Union wants the cleaners' wages increased by $2 an hour, to be in line with other public service cleaners.
Mr Key was filmed on the weekend at the Big Gay Out admitting he personally could not survive on the minimum wage.
