The Fletcher Family in Ashburton have fun making a snowgirl

It snowed in Auckland today. It was so exciting; everyone at TV3 ran outside and stood in it.

Well, a couple of ex-pat South Islanders didn't, because Auckland snow is beneath them.

And other people said it wasn't snow - miserable sods.

Auckland wasn’t the only place it snowed today.

Up and down the country, Campbell Live viewers had close encounters with the white stuff.

So we think we are hard done by living in a week of "Antarctic" weather! I was in Mongolia for their worst winter in 30 years. In the capital, the temperature fell to -42 degrees. The first snow fell in late October, and the snowfalls didn't melt until April, when the temperatures finally got above zero. We had no rain over this period but occasional falls of icing sugar-like snow. It was worse in the countryside - about 27% of the livestock died.

So Auckland, you have had a bit of sleet. Well done John for standing on a windy hill, what a riviting week your programe is so far. Come live in Southland and watch rain drive sideways, is it any wonder you Jafas are the butt of the rest of the countrys jokes. HARDEN UP! Dave, From Gore.
