Coldplay tops BBC favourite albums poll

Coldplay's 2002 release A Rush of Blood to the Head has been voted number one in a new BBC Radio poll to find listeners' Top 100 Favourite Albums of all time.

The British band's second studio project beat Keane's Hopes and Fears to claim the top spot on the Radio 2 survey, while Duran Duran's Rio came in third.

Pink Floyd's iconic album The Dark Side of The Moon placed fourth, just days after its 40th anniversary, and singer Dido's 1999 debut No Angel rounded out the top five at five.

Others in the countdown included The Rolling Stones' Sticky Fingers, The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Joshua Tree by U2, which all earned mentions in the top 10.
