A Christchurch community group is hoping they'll finally get a chance to have a say in the building of a new probation centre.

A City Council-appointed commissioner, David Kirkpatrick, will begin his review today as to whether or not the public should be consulted for the Correction's facility in Woolston.

The site is already being prepared to be built on, and the chair of the "Move Over Probation" group, Vivienne Yeki, says locals are disgusted that they haven't been consulted.

Ms Yeki says her group has dozens of documents to show the Corrections Department's told “fibs” in bulldozing it's way through the resource consent and avoiding involving local residents.
