There's been no shortage of pomp and ceremony for the riders on the Tour de France.
Just days out from the start of the event, the teams were officially presented in a colosseum themed amusement park.
While there's no doubting the gladiatorial nature of the sport, there's plenty of concern about cycling's endless doping scandals.
