An Olympian who opened a brothel in central Auckland in order to pay for his training has put his business up for auction on TradeMe.
Tae kwon do athlete Logan Campbell started the business last year, saying he hoped it would help fund his campaign to make the next Olympic Games.
But Campbell says he is selling the establishment because he found he had no time to train, and as a peace offering to the New Zealand Olympic Committee.
"With selling the business, I'll have the funds I need to be able to focus on training, instead of having to get a job and still be in the same position where I've only got two or three hours spare where I can train," he says.
"It's not enough to compete on the world scale."
Campbell finished in the top 16 of the featherweight division at the Beijing Olympic Games, and believes he's a medal chance for London 2012.
I'm sorry for all the attention I've brought on the Olympic Committee and TNZ - I know they didn't want that sort of publicity," he says.
"I want to step it up to the next level and I want to get a medal - it's up to New Zealand whether they want it or not, whether they'll let me go.
"It's my goal, it's my dream, I have to do it. So if I have to represent another country I will - but I don't want to."
The brothel was listed with a one dollar reserve but bidding has already reached $40,000.
