Police have this morning cordoned off an area outside Massey University on Auckland’s North Shore.

Massey University communications director James Gardiner confirmed police have cordoned off an area near Gate 1 where they are investigating a complaint.

The cordon was put in place at the Albany campus early this morning after an incident overnight.

“As far as we know, it doesn’t involve Massey staff or students,” he told 3 News.

Staff have been advised that something has happened and that police are investigating.

There have been reports a woman may have been violently attacked.

However, there is not thought to be an immediate danger to anyone.
