Corey Feldman has backed Michael Bay's plans to remake Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles amid fan outrage over the project, insisting he's "in" to reprise his role.

The Transformers director is working on a new film featuring the martial arts-loving crimefighters, but he's recast the superheroes as aliens - sparking anger among some devotees of the franchise.

Robbie Rist, who voiced Michelangelo in the original 1990 movie, accused Bay of "sodomising" the hit story, but Feldman, the voice of Donatello, is backing Bay's reboot.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Just heard this contoversy (sic) over Michael Bays take on TMNT... My view is I've loved his remakes...I'm IN!"

Feldman, aged 40, was a Hollywood star in the ’80s with major roles in films like The Lost Boys, The Goonies, Gremlins and Stand By Me.
