Ryan Gosling and Steve Carrell

Ryan Gosling and Steve Carrell

By Kate Rodger

Crazy, Stupid, Love is the story of Cal Weaver (Steve Carrell), dumped by his wife and broken-hearted, who is taken under the wing of a ruthless womaniser (Ryan Gosling) on a mission to help Cal win back his manhood.

Throw together a nubile young babysitter, a lovesick teenager and another fabulous Julianne Moore performance, and you have all the ingredients for rom-com of the year.

It’s true, rom-coms and I have a very chequered history and it’s a rare beast which manages to successfully combine both.

So without further ado I proclaim Crazy, Stupid, Love to be a rare beast! With its honest hilarious sexy romantic script played out by a classy collection of fresh and familiar faces, you’ll spend a near perfect few hours in the cinema.

Four and a half stars.

Did you actually watch this film Kate Rodgers? I usually agree with your reveiws but this movie was complete rubbish. I actually seriously considered turning it off half way through. A rom-com with very few laughs and an A-typical story line. DO NOT waste your time with this one.
