An attempted bank robbery in the Auckland suburb of Avondale was foiled this morning when his intended target chased him away.
The young man, wearing a green hooded jumper and blue jeans, carrying a black bag, was armed with a knife. His ethnicity is not known.
He confronted a male customer at the ASB Bank with a large kitchen knife, but was chased away by the customer and a security guard.
