Bobby Womack's Gorillaz bandmate Damon Albarn has stepped in to produce the singer/songwriter's comeback album.

The ‘Across 110th Street’ singer returned to the spotlight when Albarn invited him to perform on the track ‘Stylo’ and then to tour with Gorillaz in 2010. He also contributed vocals to another band tune.

And now the former Blur frontman is working with Gil Scott-Heron's longtime producer Richard Russell on the soul man's new album.

Earlier this year, Womack told WENN new tracks included duets with Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart and Snoop Dogg and a cover of Billy Preston's ‘With You I'm Born Again’ with the late Teena Marie.

The album has the tentative title Living in The House of Blues.
