Comedian Dane Cook will make his theatre debut as an actor in a Los Angeles production of hit musical The Producers.
The Good Luck Chuck star has been cast as crazed former Nazi Franz Liebkind, the part made famous by the late Kenneth Mars and Will Ferrell in the 1968 and 2005 Mel Brooks movies.
The show, which also features Rebecca Romijn and Modern Family funnyman Jesse Tyler Ferguson, will be staged at the Hollywood Bowl for just one weekend in late July.
Cook had previously been tipped to tackle the theatre on Broadway last year, but his turn in Neil Labute play The Fat Pig was delayed indefinitely due to an investment issue.
