Daniel Bedingfield has been announced as the second judge on the first season of The X Factor NZ, which will screen on TV3 next year.

He joins Stan Walker on the panel, alongside Dominic Bowden as the show’s host.

Grammy nominated Bedingfield, who was born in New Zealand and raised in England, rose to worldwide fame in 2001 with his single ‘Gotta Get Through This’. The song reached number one in the UK singles chart in both 2001 and 2002, as well as reaching number 10 in the Billboard Hot 100.

Bedingfield was nominated for a Grammy in 2003, and five BRIT Awards in 2004, walking away with the Best British Male Solo Artist award.

TV3 have confirmed two more X Factor NZ judges will be announced in the new year; both of whom will be female.

Auditions are due to start in Queenstown on January 5.
