Daniel Radcliffe has dismissed accusations the gay sex scenes in new movie Kill Your Darlings are shocking, and branded the controversy around the film "strange".

The Harry Potter star portrays late gay beat poet Allen Ginsberg in 1944, and engages in several homosexual love scenes.

The British actor has long been a vocal supporter of gay rights and has worked closely with the Trevor Project, a nonprofit organisation focused on crisis support and suicide prevention for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youths - and he's baffled by the furore surrounding the movie.

He tells MTV News, "It's interesting that it's deemed shocking. For me, there's something very strange about that because we see straight sex scenes all the time. We've seen gay sex scenes before. I don't know why a gay sex scene should be any more shocking than a straight sex scene. Or both of them are equally un-shocking."

Radcliffe is out of touch. He should not be baffled that people don't want to see explicit homosexuality in films. Most of us aren't perverted voyeurs.

What I don't understand is this whole thing about Gay sex in films. I'm far from being Gay, I'm as straight as they come. But, in this day and age, Lesbian sex in films is acceptable, where Gay in film, is Taboo.I hate this double standard. It should be, either we except same sex in films or not, as oppose to, we accept one sex to the other to be on film. I'm with Radcliffe on this one, you go ahead and do your business, I just won't be watching that movie, even if you paid me. Well, I'd just skip the gay bit though.
