Daniel Radcliffe is upset the Harry Potter franchise has been largely overlooked by the Academy Awards, blaming Hollywood "snobbery" for the snub.
The final installment of the hit series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, is in the running for art direction, make-up and visual effects prizes at the upcoming 2012 ceremony.
But Radcliffe, who played the boy wizard in eight films, admits it's "disheartening" to miss out on a chance at Oscars gold in the major categories.
He tells Britain's Radio Times, "It's kind of disheartening. I never thought I'd care. But it would've been nice to have some recognition, just for the hours put in. I don't think the Oscars like commercial films, or kids' films, unless they're directed by Martin Scorsese.
"I was watching Hugo the other day and was going, 'Why is this nominated and we're not?' I was slightly miffed. There's a certain amount of snobbery."
But the actor concedes, "How much of a pat on the back do we really need? We get paid stupid amounts of money."
