David Bain has been found not guilty at his retrial of the murders of five members of his family.

The jury came back late this afternoon, returning not guilty verdicts on all five counts of murder.

David Bain smiled and lowered his head after each of the verdicts was read, and almost finished with a bow to the jury.

There was pandemonium in the court room – Mr Bain’s supporters went wild. Joe Karram, his long time supporter, had tears in his eyes as he hugged Mr Bain and members of the Karram family.

Mr Bain was taken down to address the media approximately 15 minutes later. Clearly overcome, he could not actually say anything.

After Mr Bain left, a couple of the jurors approached him and gave him a hug, smiled and told him good luck.

3 News understands Mr Bain is severely traumatised after listening to the evidence throughout the trial.

Your a twit Stephen, did you see all the evidence?? I think not. Only the jury could make that call and the believe from what they saw and hear that he is innocent. Grow up and lear to spell in the process.

No one will ever know the real truth except David Bain. I do know however, that he definitely wasn't QUILTY...and to repeat it so many times with a Q instead of a G, that's a crime in itself..

I am so infuriated with our legal system that a person can commit a crime, get found guilty
and then appeal and keep appealing until his defense can twist things and make a mockery of our court system so much that it just confuses and misleads the jury.
When will we ever see justice done, and to think that he is now going to try and get compensation
even though a jury had found him guilty I think is an injustice to the taxpayer.
I have seen a few cases where defense layers twist things so that the jury cannot convict
because the defense team created doubt.
He even couldn’t tell the truth when he came out of court, talks to the media then all of a sudden
looses his voice.
