David Garrett quit the ACT Party over allegations he had stolen the identity of a dead baby (NZPA file)

Former ACT MP David Garrett has been cleared of fraud.

Mr Garrett quit his party in September last year over allegations he had stolen the identity of a dead baby.

A Police investigation has now ended.

The investigation by the District Criminal Investigations determined that there has been no criminal offending in this case.

So stealing an identity and creating a fake passport is ok? I must remember this. And when I get caught I can quote the Crown vs. Garrett as my defence.... Good to know politicians get treated the same as everyone else. Yeah right!
