David Shearer declares offshore account
Mon, 18 Mar 2013 2:19p.m.
Labour Leader David Shearer's dobbed himself in for forgetting to declare a foreign bank account held in his name.
The New York-based Chase cash account, which was used to collect Mr Shearer's United Nations salary, hasn't been included on the Register of Pecuniary interests since he became an MP in 2009.
The register is being amended after Mr Shearer realised his mistake.
The register is designed to improve political transparency and many MPs have had to make corrections in the past - including gifts, superannuation schemes, and free lunches.

@Eddie.. take your lithium and prozack are you forgetting John key and his own major memory issues over time?.
You kept telling us when John Key did things like this that it was merely a slip of his memory.
So now you are telling us that you are going to be a big arsed hypocrite here?.
Prozack and Lithium for you.

It was just his bank account to collect his pay while working overseas for UN. Not a biggie, but STILL it is pretty negligent of Mr Shearer to have left it out, even if inadvertently. 'Caesar's wife should not only be honest, but should appear to be so!'

What Anil like the shares that John Key forgot to declare.
National Party fan boys are getting far less intelligent as the days go by and have memory lapses like Mr Key the brain fade queen.

Whoopie do! What about John Key who failed to declare a conflict of interests in 2008 when he owned shares in Fletcher Challenge Forests? The company was a major user of Tranzrail for its operations, and at the time it was campaigning for the Government to purchase the rails from Tranzrail. Fletcher Challenge believed it would benefit from that purchase. John Key used his MP privileges to ask questions in the House about that prospective purchase without directly mentioning Fletcher Challenge Forests. As an owner of Fletcher's Forest, he stood to benefit financially.
