Ford’s Will Davison is looking to join other contenders teammate Mark Winterbottom and Holden's Jamie Whincup by posting a win in north Queensland this weekend.
Of the three drivers Davison is the odd one out, having not won in the far north however on the streets of Townsville he is looking to change that.
Davison will have to overcome Whincup who holds a stranglehold on the Townsville circuit – only finishing outside the top two once in the six races since V8s starting racing there in 2009.
"I've had some reasonable results there, haven't won a race but I hadn't won a race at many places before this year," Davison told media.
He currently trails Whincup by 38 points in the championship but feels he can make up that deficit this weekend.
"Jamie's the guy to beat everywhere; he's got impressive stats at every track we go to. I wouldn't be surprised if he's won at every track,” Davison said.
