Will Davison has breathed some life into Ford’s V8 Supercar title race after winning on the Gold Coast, although once again it was the difficult street circuit that really called the shots.
It only took a few laps before Surfers struck again, knocking several cars out of the running, and it wasn't just the walls messing with the drivers' days – a missing wheel ruined Michael Caruso's chances.
Lucky enough to be dubbed 'Jammy' Whincup, the champ pitted just in time for a safety car, and the Holden driver was placed perfectly to challenge for the lead.
But there was no getting past Davison, who made amends for his dismal showing at Bathurst.
And the surf was up for Ford Performance Racing team, with Mark Winterbottom joining his teammate on the podium.
