A Chinese deer has become the local party animal in northern China's Shandong province after developing a taste for beer.
The deer was offered its first taste of beer by a waitress at a local resort in Weihei, local television reported, it now drinks an average of two bottles of beer a day.
"It drinks beer quite often. It does not drink water any more, it only drinks beer," the chef said.
The deer will also drink wine, a woman working for the restaurant said, but only if there is no beer available.
"It likes beer the most. Some times it can finish up to three bottles," said the woman.
The deer started drinking last November, the report said.
Animal rights groups are yet to comment.
