A group of New Zealand Defence Force personnel are set to leave for the Solomon Islands.
The crew of 34 from the 1st and 2nd Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment and supporting units will be farewelled on Monday at the Burnham Military Camp, near Christchurch, and will be in the Solomons for four months.
They will work alongside the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, the Participating Police Force and Australian, Tongan and Papua New Guinean military to enforce security and stability in the country, a statement from the defence force says.
They will be the 16th group from the New Zealand Defence Force to be deployed to the Solomons.
