Zac Posen fashion range for Target was inspired by "lesbian proms".

The US designer recently launched his limited edition line for the bargain store - which features prom gowns, dresses and female tuxedos for under $100 - and says he wanted his collection to reflect modern times.

He said: "Lesbian proms have been such a big thing in the news lately.

Rather than create a fake subculture, I wanted to address things that are actually happening."

Zac says any girl wearing a tuxedo to their prom would be making a huge fashion statement.

He told Teen Vogue: "It's a kick-a*s girl who can wear a tuxedo to prom! Don't be afraid of drama. Prom is one of the few opportunities in life when you can fulfil any romantic desires you have."

As well as helping teenage girls get their dream prom dress, it has also been revealed Zac is set to design Coco Rocha's wedding gown.

The 21-year-old model got engaged to James Conran last month and is keen for Zac to create her dream dress.

She said: "Mr. Zac Posen is the best! I met with him to discuss wedding dress designs and immediately sketches were flying... So exciting!!"
