You will have seen Campbell Live video from inside the Destiny Church loyalty ceremony tonight. 700 men pledged their allegiance to the man who now wants to be known as King Brian Tamaki. Let us know what you think.

If one thing I will say about destiny church is that they are proactive and will speak out on political issues while other churches will cower and do nothing. They provide a void in peoples lives and support and help those who need it.

Still, when the head of the church starts demanding royalties, allegence and to be pronounced as King! (if these allegations are true) - then one has to question if these are the workings of a man or God? In faith and belief in God there is only one King and it's NOT K.T. I think someone needs to study the first commandment.

However, not everyone is perfect and atleast his church is bringing people to christ, which is more important.

It is no small wonder that Bishop Tamaki and Ritchie Lewis choose to be interviewed by TV 1's CLOSE UP over and above Campbell Live. Why would they want to be interviewed by Campbell when he is constantly slandering Bishop and the church and then the times he has had Bishop or Ritchie on the show he butts in all the time! I thought Mike Hosking of Close Up conducted a professional and challenging interview and allowed the Bishop to speak. Also, why is John Campbell so interested in bashing the church, why not take a look at the countless lives that have been changed and transformed for the better?! Jesus is definately alive and King of Kings in Destiny Church!

I'm embarassed to be from the same iwi/hapu as "that man". I dislike the ideology, the man and his plans and pity the fools who walk along side him.He is but a mere mortal who deserves no title and should not be anywhere near the kingitanga movement or our people.
Good luck to those who want to follow but please don't use our Maoritanga as a vehicle to encite people over "issues".
ENUF IS ENUF AND I'VE HAD ENUF OF SEEING MEN? IN BLACK RABBITTING ON AND ON AND ON...........

As a third generation born into the Commonwealth covenant church a cult which was very much like destiny I have seen the effect this has on entire generation of famillies. We need to be very worried about the children who will grow up with no voice in destiny and do not have the freedom to choose their beliefs.

Why do people need to sign a pledge to give 10% of their wages to the church, I thought churches were there for the people to help them and guide them through life not suck all their money up and leave them in poverty. I believe both of them are sucking money out of people to pay for the own rich lifestyle.

one word....CULT how long does it take for people to see that Brian and Hannah Tamaki are freeloaders who are fleecing people out of their money? I dont see them cutting back on anything....

Brian Tamaki is obviously fulfilling a spiritual need for the people who flock to his churches. Nothing wrong with that. The problem is that it has all been said and done before. Churches extort money from people fullstop. Somehow they convince people that there is more likely to be a space in heaven or a whole lot more forgiveness for them dependant on how much money they contribute to the church. It is not illegal to suck people in. Just shameful. If Brian is proud of his church and his incessant desire for money from the righteous followers he wouldn't mind talking about it would he?

Brian Tamaki obviously hasnt had his eyes open to the things of Spirit because like King David who wanted to build a city for God but God told Nathan to tell King David that God was building King David a city, HELLO Brian Tamaki did you know that was in the Scriptures or do you have your own word for your church, hehehe. And that city is within us not made with human hands.
