Destiny Church will soon become an Urban Maori Authority, entitling it to millions of dollars in government contracts and Treaty payouts.

The church will work beside seven regional UMA groups representing more than 10,000 Maori who have lost contact with their iwi.

The groups use multi-million dollar Government contracts to run programmes in health, education and parenting.

Chairman of the Authorities Willie Jackson, says they support Destiny's inclusion, but not necessarily its ideology.

Bryan is a fundamentalist who has power and control and is using it for no good. Taking money from the poor and using it for himself as you can see his rich house and many flash cars..do people not see that?! they are blind. he is not god and all he wants isyour money. he does not care for anyone but himself!

What really annoys me is he is taking money off the most vulnerable of our society, those who can least afford it. The Maori and Pacific Island people of South Auckland. Promising them a new life and future whilst preying on them like a leech. If you want to worship I encourage you all to go to a genuine house of God where people worship the Lord not the Pastor and where they will welcome you even if you don't have money. MONEY, that is Bryan Tamaki's God.

While the church has potential to do some good, the idea of giving it to a religious group like this is pretty terrifying. It's divisive enough as it is, but to bring beliefs not based on evidence into this realm I think is pretty irresponsible.

God is a righteous judge, and everyone will have to give an account of every idle word and action. The word says that many people will come in my name and deceive many, even the elect matt 24, We have to pray that God would open the eyes of the blind, and for them to be able to decern between if it is of God or not,get confirmation before we start judging people. only God can judge. I just pray that God gets all the praize and all the glory and that JESUS IS THE LORD OF LORDS AND THE KING OF KINGS.

just thru watchin cambell live tonight really shocked me as brian tamaki wants to be known as KING or god now,and has alot of rules put in place, someone please show me where in the word of GOD it says brian tamaki is to be a king or a GOD,and his followers are to serve him, every person is accountable for his own actions,i tell you now, brian tamaki cannot save himself for his wrong doings when he stands in front of GOD,and he certainly cannot save those who choose to follow him,for those who follow him and serve him, have already put him before god,EXODUS 20 verse 3...GOD SAYS YOU SHALL NOT HAVE ANY OTHER GODS BEFORE ME...this is a commandment from GOD himself.i dont hate brian tamaki or his followers but i hate the sins, because people are so wound up in this they cannot see over the fence, have your way lord in this place, jesus loves everyone and because he loves us like his own he corrects us when we do wrong,no one is perfect, people go back to the word of god and ask god to remove the scales from your eyes so you may see clearly and live by the word of god not by man

I agree you can never trust the religious right with this kind of money. On writing a constitution we would have to make sure ALL groups got their say not just NZ Europeans and Maori.

This is a joke, they are rolling in money and it's not enough for them, what next?

Warwick is right, there needs to be an end to this NOW! No wonder it's expensive to live in this country when we all keep paying for events that took place before our lifetimes.
