I think Destiny Church Members need to get their own facts straight. Richard Lewis (Destiny Church spokesperson) wasn't pushed out of the New Zealand Police force for no reason...something that some people might want to investigate a bit deeper...

The only power the secular world has over the people is money. Money is necessary to run our country. We are morally responsible to pay our taxes. Our 20 to 50 percent, which ever bracket we fall into. So if the Church has the power of the money, they are better equipped to do what the church should do. So what all of a sudden its an issue. Is it just politics, to keep the staus quo.

Wow weee, Brian Tamaki, His put the cat amongst the pigeons. We all know the secular world is taken aback by the rapid growth of the church. Please dont feel threatened. We know how biased the media can get.News after all is sensationalism. Just because the leadership of DC is so dynamic, and makes our politicians look so mediocre.I say, DC & many other churches are a growing force & maybe a threat to our present way of governing. You cant destroy the church. Every other organisation needs finance to function. The small, old fashioned battered down church buildings as the secular world perceive the christians are ancient history. Get used to it, the world is a fast changing place. Accept it, New Zealand Churches are doing an awesome job. Those that differ to believe are fools in their hearts. Their lives are far from good. The big bang theory has just about corrupted a generation.

As a Christian I am very concerned about this man and his approach to aligning himself to the person of Jesus Christ and the gospel. Clearly he lives in the fullness of worldliness, which is a contradiction to the call of the Christian to move away from the trappings of the world and wealth. I hope and pray that people will continue to leave and find churches and support that helps break this hold he is creating over people. In my opinion , this has become a cult and very dangerous for our community if left to grow. Yes he has done good work amongst the community by empowering people to move forward in their lives, but he has now gone over the line, and created a distorted view of the Christian call and expectations of followers of Jesus Christ. Brian clearly believes he has worked hard for his rewards. But don’t most of us ? and it has got to be wrong to draw an exclusive lifestyle from others, when the poor and needy cry out from our own communities and the globe. In relation to the tithe I do understand the principles of tithe, but the tithe should be going back out to those in need. Something is clearly very wrong here. Please continue the Good work Campbell.

The problem I have is that how can a Non Profit organisation deal in such huge sums of Income and not be considered a commercial organisation.Being on Tv everyday does not make you a righteous man.Brian Tamaki needs to be careful that he does not put himself over and above God.

Most peoples comments come from taking media as gospel that usually comes from some twisted journo with little or no personal experience. The thing lacking are stories of all the great work being done in our communities and peoples lives who have changed for good in many areas of their lives. I went in there broke and busted, I learned bout who God made me to be and to put Christ in the centre of my life. I am now in the top 5% of earning bracket in NZ and have a fantastic family. Bishop Brian just rubs people up the wrong way because of his style. Carry on preaching preacher!!!
