All church leaders should have good accountability, that is by a group of people other than family who are not just yes men. This is to protect the leader and the church from possible human error and failings, from effecting the ministry and damaging the church. Destiny church has this is principle but not in a practical biblical working relationship. Consequently Bishop can do anything he wants without constructive critique from within the church, this is totally un biblical and is reinforced by the new covenant pledge which is also not found in scripture. I believe there are ethical and basic intergrity failures also within the church surrounding the whole money issue. No transparnacy as to where the donated money goes ??. Why not kick all the negative comments from outside the church in the head, like any large church open the books. Show also what wages Bishop is on , if it is all good whats the problem. I can only conclude that the reason Bishop is not employed by the church as stated by Richard Lewis but is contractored or self employed, is that he can demand the type of salary he sees fit to earn and no one else that he is supposed to be under can tell him different.

Dear john campbell, I listened to your comments with richard lewis
I am very impressed with the last words he spoke very exceptional, (quote) faith and long jivity faith passed on to our children for the generations to come.True at the end of the day its not about money, its not about me and its not about you,our words are true or fauls, prophetic or pathetic, its about reaching the lost at eny cost.Words of encouragement can change a childs life for ever, why because they have child like faith, the face of god shines down on them all the time, the pure in heart shall see GOD. lest ye be like a child ye can not enter the Kingdom of heaven, harden hearts cannot see GOD,
why, because their always looking for fault in other people, UNLESS YOU REPENT AND BECOME like little children humble, lowly, loving, forgiving receive jesus christ as your lord and saviour, why because you need him now,I encourage you to invite him in,dearlord jesus for give me of all my sins, please jesus take away my sins, help me to forgive those who hurt me,and bless them, dear jesus I give you permission to come into my life today Amen.

Yes, Heni, one can go on and on, the thing is, I did wake up and so did thousands of others. Find yourself a good church and a good pastor and you will know what I mean. Destiny church isn't the only place. Sounds as though you need to find peace. There are enough angry Maori around already, creating the opposite. Whether I put my name up or not is irrelevant. Its what the heart says, not the name.

Win, Win anonymous. Get real. This church is in the limelight because of the excessive control and their outrageous behavior etc, etc. I could go on but I don't see any point, you've already made your intelligence about the matter pretty clear. Wake up.

Heni, nobody pulls the wool over anyone's eyes. This site is merely a forum for debate that Destiny church invariably creates each time its Bishop initiates a new concept. To disbelieve what ordinary citizens are purporting in this forum, is your prerogative as it is theirs to air. No one is forced (against one's will) to give tithes, to stay in the church, to honour its leader or to quit altogether. There are many churches that follow the edicts set out in the Bible - it just so happens, Destiny church's profile is publicly recognised and therefore is prone to considerable response. No one likes change at best, but as time goes on, the proof of that change for better or worse, reveals itself in all its worth.

Concerning Sandie and Lisa's comments, "please take the wool off your eyes". He is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Don't pull the maori card out. You know more than me that the line about asking for the books to see where the tithes are going is just a mask. No one would dare ask for them as for one your too scared to as you may as well be known as rebellious and two they will be watching you're every move. In saying that. Is this how you are to feel in a church. Hey No! Where is the love in that! There is none. Get out while you can. It is possible. I promise you it is not true, You will not burn in hell for leaving. You'll experience life how it was meant to be lived, not tied to some imaginary man like tamaki, but to the reality of Jesus Christ who really does love you for being you no matter how much you give as long as it is from your heart, Jesus is quite happy with that, you only need to read and learn that for yourself in the bible and you don't have to pay a bishop for that information. If you see guys that tamaki's enterprise is all about, "Well I did this for you and now you must give back", I mean it is all justified in their eyes, only the wool is pulled over yours, your being led to the slaughter (broken homes, financial difficulties, keeping up appearances, ignorance toward your neighbour, self righteousness, a hate for those who don't believe in you) because of it. There is more to life than that way of life.

As soon as I walked into destiny church over 15 years ago, My rebellion and my stubbornness relented to what I instinctively knew within my spirit was the stronger influence - The vision of destiny church. To build a large great spirit filled church that is both redemtive and creative in all it's expressions impacting Auckland New Zealand and the World for Jesus Christ. The blood sweat and tears that both the Bishop and his wife & family have sown to seriously guard this vision for over thirty years, has built a strong biblical, and theologically sound foundation set on the cornerstone who is Christ Jesus. To call destiny church a cult is mindless, ignorance.
