A ghostly spacies parlour, a giant wall of sound and a moving plastic bag; all are part of a survey of the work of one of the country's leading digital artists Sean Kerr.

It's on at not just one but two galleries in Auckland – but be warned, you may be the one being watched.

Most art waits patiently in a gallery to be viewed but the work of Sean Kerr is instead watching you.

It knows where you are and isn't afraid to tell you so.

The collection of two decades of work is called ‘Bruce Danced if Victoria sang and Victoria sang so Bruce Danced’ because…

"Occasionally when you think something is going to happen it doesn't or it does like there's someone inside a locker moving around as we speak," Kerr says.

The honking banal video games may appear pointless but think of the hours of your life you've already frittered away in virtual reality.

"There is a take on the ridiculousness of computers the ridiculousness of the digital age where some people spend 15 years of their lives in their rooms playing online games."

There is also a rubbish bag that moves a bit.

Kerr says it's about animating everyday objects to help people see them differently.

The exhibition starts in Auckland tomorrow night.
