The music industry were complaining bitterly that Napster was causing CD sales to slump. Independent surveys were clearly showing that it were CD singles sales that were dropping. But the independent surveys were showing that Album sales were skyrocketing. Which led most experts to believe that people were downloading singles from Napster, deciding they liked the music, then going out and purchasing the album. The music industry have a good record of not telling the whole story when they complain about illegal downloads. This report certainly doesn't surprise me. Its about time the recording industry embraced the digital technology and realize the days of CD sales are gone.
