A learned and of applied opinion acknowledges and qualifies that no matter what practical and well intended measures are enforced and adhered underground, unfortunately risk of the inevitable always pens reality...it is the nature of the beast!!

The disater at Cave Creek, the leaky building syndrome and now Pike River can all be placed at the feet of the Government. That is the beaurecrats in Treasury and the relevant departments who decided that if it ain't broke, tinker with it anyway. Whent things go wrong though, these pen pushers duck for cover.
