The astrologers promise to rid clients of black magic

The astrologers promise to rid clients of black magic

A special Campbell Live investigation has found Auckland is rife with a number of Indian astrologers who have set up make-shift offices around the city.

They promise to rid clients of black magic, but it comes at a cost - in some cases thousands of dollars

That's ringing alarm bells with consumer groups who are warning people to be wary and asking the Government to act.

Some Indian astrologers claim to reveal what's in your future.

And after delivering a bad fortune - the astrologer then claims they have the power to change your future.

Campbell Live used actors to visit three different astrologers in South Auckland. Each one predicted bad fortune for the people we sent in and once they tell you the bad news they offer to pray to stop the events they've just predicted.

But their prayer costs you money. Our actor paid fifty dollars for an initial reading but to go any further was going to cost a lot more.

While we visited South Auckland we found astrologers like this have set up shop all over Auckland and that's got the community worried.

Some in the Indian community believe these astrologists are preying on people's the weaknesses of vulnerable people.

It seems that plenty of people are answering the ads.

Astrologer Raj Kumar told our actor that with nine prayers - he could prevent a woman’s miscarriage.

When we interviewed Raj about this - he stood by his claims.

He says if customers aren't happy - he'll pay the money back.

But our customers have learnt their lesson

Consumer New Zealand is calling for the government to investigate further.

Astrology is not meant to be used for personal gain or to give people comfort. It is to enable Kings to plan granaries ahead of famine, and to prepare for cyclical diseases and other events. The Indians who abuse the art this way are in the same category as the disciples of the witch Freud who rent their services to tyrants to bash prisoners who disagree with State policy, as befell Australian Communists under the Menzies/Askin era, and Russian Capitalists pre Gorbachev. People ought be trained in such basics of Astrology as enable them to predict quakes, and possibly learn the idea of compatibility which can be a snare. If you are compatible with somebody they can get you into crime more easily. I have predicted 800,000 human deaths but Consulates have nowhere to send the information, an Office of Vizier would deal with all matters including testing of people who claim ability, at least an accreditation program would take some fakes out of the market. That is 800,000 dead who were alive when I did the predictions by the way. It is easy 3 point plotting with a bit of mathematics involved. I can "do" quakes up to the end of 3002. I have not been paid for the work, I consider it a duty to mankind. Teaching it will need setup and likely incur rental for premises and cost of materials.
I was successful to predict both major Indian quakes and warn of the quakes due there in 2016.

I dont think that all the astrologers are frauds because in each and every field of this world there are good people and bad people. there is astrology in this world and i have some knowledge of palm reading and it is very easy to predict ones future by reading palm there are solutions to problems your are facing currently and in future but some problems in our fate will not have solution. some astrologers are misleading and i reuest the people to know about astrology first and then comment on astrologers.

I don't blame these 'conmen'. We are the reason for their existence. We are so gullible because we lack the vedic knowledge that we all should have. Because of this we easily fall into the traps set by the pundits/swamis/gurus/spritual healers/witch doctors etc. What we practice today are just rituals and not our religion. It's sickening to walk down the streets of Hunters corner where you see posters of these miracle healers almost everywhere. What is the difference between the services offered by these 'conmen' and the accepted rituals of 'Nav Garah' pooja etc? Come back to the Vedas and these people will cease to exist

What double standards from Indian newslink editor Venkatraman!! His newspaper regularly carries 15-20 adverts for these "astrologers" and here on TV, he says "they are definitely con men"!! This would suggest that he is a con man too, for he's happy to take money from these scamsters for the ads knowing fully well that they are conmen! Shame on you, Mr Venkat!
