Does the price of milk affect where you shop?

Nosh has dropped the price of its milk to $1 per litre in the hope it will encourage other chains to do the same. Would you change your shopping habits to get cheaper milk?

no becuase cow's milk is very bad for humans. the research is immense on the medical problems cows milk causes. the only animal milk that is safe for humans is goat milk.

We've given up on milk in our family. We have herb tea on our cereal and feel much better as well not having that post breakfast slump. Try it and see.

We get milk from the vege shop ($6 for 2x2L) at the same time as we get the weekly fruit/veges and then meat from the butchery next door to that. The rest is from Pak n Save.

Sure would get my milk from there and then cross the road to pak and save. Noshes prices for most food items are outrageous, or did I go on a bad day.

The price of milk doesn't affect where I shop.

I'll shop where they give me a good price for typically everything. Mill Str Pak-n-Sav is generally near the cheapest in NZ each year and I buy most of my food there. Milk prices for the last 13 months have been $3.50-$3.60 - average from a supermarket for cheapest fonterra branded milk here in the heart of Fonterra production.

Its not worth driving all over town to save a couple of dollars on milk when they charge more for everything else. Nosh is just doing standard marketing of a loss-leader - sell milk cheap in the hope more people turn up, and buy their more pricey other items.

So Nosh has dropped the price to $4 for 4 ltrs, but their normal price was $4 for 2 ltrs so they have been pricing more than 11% higher than your typical supermarkets for the last year so why did they charge so much and now are making an issue of it? Its a loss-leader marketing ploy which the news is then giving like $500,000 worth of free advertising by its promotion. You look at the price of advertising, get that much air time on all the news channels, plus the tv shorts promoting the news, its about $500,000 of free advertising tv3 and tvnz have given to Nosh!
