The Dominion Post will not be delivered to many parts of the North Island due to a fault at the printing press

Dominion Post newspaper subscribers across much of the North Island will not have their newspaper delivered today because of a printing glitch.

The newspaper's general manager Gerard Watt said electrical problems at the printing press on Friday night were to blame.

There will be no deliveries to Taupo, the Bay of Plenty, Auckland, Gisborne and Wairoa. The newspaper will be delivered later than usual to all other areas.

Saturday's edition will also be smaller than usual with some regular features missing, including i-Dom, some world pages, entertainment and two market place pages in the business section.

Mr Watt apologised for any inconvenience caused to customers.

On January 28 The Dominion Post editor Bernadette Courtney apologised to readers for the late delivery of the newspaper due to a mechanical error at the printing plant.

The newspaper is owned by Fairfax Media.
