Two people have been killed in a crash in the Hawke's Bay.
The accident happened on State Highway 2 near Poukawa Rd about 15km south of Hastings at about 2am on Sunday.
Police say it appeared the vehicle veered off the road into a ditch and it seems there was only one vehicle, a ute, involved.
The deaths bring the Labour Weekend holiday road toll to three, after a man in his 20s was killed north or Napier, also in the Hawke's Bay, on Saturday morning.
