The dramatic rescue of a man lost at sea being circled by sharks off the coast of Western Australia has been captured on camera.

The 49-year-old survivor was spotted by a Channel Seven news helicopter after he had spent about 20 hours treading water.

Circled by sharks? I saw one. Hammerheads are more curious than anything. They are scared off by bubbles. Why did the fishermen not stick together? they broke every wule in the book. Where were their lifejackets?

Often with these sorts of stories, the sharks are not nearly as dangerous as the media would like to portray them. However, in this case the sharks are hammerheads. That type of shark is one to watch out for.
