Marijuana smoker Dre Oakley has protested against the New Zealand Transport Agency’s new TV advertisements featuring stoned drivers by filming himself getting stoned while driving, doing burn-outs and drifting, and posting the footage on YouTube.

The video has attracted around 500 views so far and told the Herald on Sunday he made it “for a laugh”.

Well, all i can get from this is that young people aren't allowed to have or share their opinions and when they do you call them "brain damaged". You take someones story and twist it so the public gets on your side and don't even get the chance to see it with an open mind. I personally know 'Dre' and he is no where near brain damaged, just not afraid to stand up and share a different view on things.

It's not cool to drive stoned. Probably safer than driving drunk, but still, not cool, unless it was on a closed road or something. I want to see pot legalized, but I don't think this sort of video is going to help.

i feel these drug driving adds are over the top. i myself drive stoned every single time im behind the wheel and know for a fact it is nothing like they portray. i dont know any smokers who act like they do on any of there videos so where have they got this stereotype from? its is more propaganda than anything as the real effects are being clouded by there own judgement of the situation. its just like saying every person who ever drinks on a friday night is liable to cause a fight or drive an crash there car. i personally laugh when i see the adds on tv as i know the real effects are nothing like what they show on tv

No erm, stupid people do alcohol and cant handle the truth about canabis. its sounds like your all 100% sure he did this on public roads? and not a closed race track or a paddock even? When science gives us a definite answer or understanding of a particular matter thiers not much need for opinions any longer. Whos going to get the last laugh? ofcourse those have educated them selves, not those who have blindly beleaved ridiculous non truths thier whole lives! Dont need to be hatters, simply just handle the truth, the facts and evidence. REALITY!
