Workers in Dunedin took to the streets this morning, protesting Government plans to change employment laws.

Thousands of people gathered in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington yesterday to rally against the plans.

The changes include giving workers the chance to sell their fourth week of annual leave and extending the 90-day trial period across all businesses.

Glenda Alexander from the Council of Trade Unions says the plans infringe on the rights of staff.

Under the proposed changes employers would have the right to demand a doctor's certificate for a single day's sick leave.
