A dwarf crippled after an attack outside a pub in England is blaming reports of England's rugby team attending a "mad Midget Weekender" event during the Rugby World Cup for giving his attacker the idea.
Martin Henderson was at the White Horse pub, in Wincanton, Somerset, celebrating his birthday with friends and he was attacked outside the pub, the Press Association reports.
"I went outside for a cigarette and the next thing I know I'm suddenly in the air and someone has got hold of me," Mr Henderson told the Western Gazette.
The 37-year-old said he believed there was only one person involved in the incident.
"I guess I was an easy target and the only reason I was picked on was because I am small," he said.
The incident happened about a month after England rugby players, including Mike Tindall, visited the Altitude Bar in Queenstown, which was hosting a "Mad Midget Weekender".
Bar manager Rich Deane has denied any "dwarf throwing" was involved and has said the event was misinterpreted.
The reports of the England players going to the event may have given his attacker the idea, Mr Henderson said in a report in The Sun.
Mr Henderson has to use a zimmer frame to walk and has been told by doctors he will need a wheelchair for longer journeys.
