E3, the largest videogame expo in the world has taken place this week in Los Angeles.
It's a place where new hardware is revealed and the new games that will run on it.
From Batman to Mario to shoot 'em ups, it's a Mecca for gamers.
This year Sony revealed it's portable Vita, Xbox teased us with more games and Nintendo unveiled the Wii U, the console that makes gamers look like they're fighting with an iPad.
On the main convention floor there were reminders that while modern gaming is cool, it doesn't make you look cool. From controller-less gameplay to 3D glasses, gaming is often not a glamorous look. Or sound.
On the main floor of E3 there were loads of booth babes, guns, more babes, more guns and of course babes with guns.
And everyone had a favourite new game: Saints Row: The Third, Dance Central 2 and Mario Cart were some of the exciting titles E3 attendees told 3 News about.
In the main exhibit hall we actually found Xzibit, who was there exhibiting a new brand of headphones. He told me he was a big fan of Call of Duty.
Call of Duty is the franchise that keeps breaking entertainment records with an impressive 30 million players online. We got a 360 degree sneak peek at the latest COD title, Modern Warfare 3. It made the crowd’s jaws drop, including members of the US Air Force that watched on.
Stephen Spielberg even snuck in yesterday for a private viewing of the game, something that pleased the developers Infinity Ward a great deal.
“We are just such true fans of his work,” says Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward, “So to have him come in and talk about the various moments like I love it how you go into the sub and launch the missiles and now you have to get out of a gauntlet of your own demise and you're like yes! That's what we're going for!”
Infinity Ward are doing things right. If only those at E3 could sing as well as they make games.
