EA is opting to sell Battlefield on its own Origin service

EA have today confirmed their much-hyped upcoming first-person shooter Battlefield 3 will not be available to PC gamers through Steam.

A post made on the company’s forums by an EA developer blames Valve’s “restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to deliver patches and other downloadable content” for EA’s decision.

Instead, EA is opting to sell Battlefield on its own Origin service and other digital distributors which can be viewed here.

Although the battle between Valve and EA over the terms of service is an ongoing one, with EA previously removing Crysis 2 and Dragon Age 2 from Steam, EA says it remains hopeful it can reach an agreement which will allow it to sell Battlefield.
