A toddler in Canada appears to have had a lucky escape after almost ending up on an eagle's dinner plate.

In a video posted to YouTube, an eagle appears to swoop down on child playing in a Montreal park before attempting to carry him off by his hood.

But it seems the youngster proved a tad too heavy for the bird, who is seen to drop him back down after a few seconds.

The video is yet to be verified, and some viewers have already expressed doubts online about its authenticity.

What do you think? Watch the video.

An eagle can lift about half its weight... in this case it seems the child is to hevy for this bird... however... I beleve in some cases it can happen ...

I find this a hard one to believe!! If this were ture the baby jacket would have been torn to shreds.. the baby would posibly have some shoulder damage.. are you sure the person setting this up is not a professional trainer of large birds,,,
