A crash this morning in Milford, on Auckland's North Shore, has left one dead.
The incident occurred around 3am this morning at the intersection of Kitchner Road and Shakespeare Road.
A car hit a traffic light pole at the intersection, killing the driver.
There were no passengers in the car at the time of the crash.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the scene and police say there will be major traffic delays until the area is reopened around 7am this morning.
