Early morning quake for North Island

An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale has struck the east coast of the North Island this morning.

The quake occurred at 3:18am, according to Geonet.

It struck at a depth of 64km, 25km west of Tolago Bay with an intensity level that was “weak”.
