Thousands of people are expected to flock to Christchurch's Hagley Park today to visit the Ellerslie Flower Show – the country's largest and most famous flower show.
Firstline reporter Kloe Palmer says the feeling in the city is very different from this time last year when the garden city was still reeling from the February earthquake.
“So many of the exhibitions here are either based on or have been inspired by the earthquakes that have been going on for over a year now,” she says.
Shortly before last February’s quake, designers had been setting up for the 2011 show. After the quake hit the event area was turned into an interim emergency shelter.
