Elderly man dies hunting

3News NZ

A 75-year-old man has collapsed and died while hunting in Fiordland.

A teenage boy walked out to a campsite to raise the alarm about 5pm on Monday after his hunting companion collapsed in Hollyford Valley.

The man was pronounced dead by a doctor flown into the site on a helicopter which was used to help recover the body.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and the death has been referred to the coroner.
