Vets at the Wellington SPCA have given an emergency haircut to another stray Persian pedigree.
The cat was rescued from a Wainuiomata house this morning.
Staff at the SPCA said its coat probably hadn't been groomed for months and was badly matted on one side.
Vets shaved off a 135g block of densely matted fur.
The cat was initially named Matt when it first arrived at the SPCA, but staff then discovered it was female.
It should make a full recovery and will be kept for seven days before being offered for adoption.
Another Persian cat named Sabrina had its coat shaved at the SPCA last month.
