Eminem has become the first artist to sell over one million digital copies of an album.

The rap superstar's 2010 release Recovery hit the one million mark on Tuesday - almost a week after his latest release, Hell: The Sequel, hit number one on the US album charts.

In a statement, his manager Paul Rosenberg says, "Over the years we've made a concerted effort to engage Em's online fanbase, so this achievement is especially rewarding."
