Mad Men stars Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss are in the running for top prizes at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards.
Kerry Washington and Jimmy Kimmel revealed the nominees for the prestigious TV awards show from the Television Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in Los Angeles today.
Jon and Elisabeth were named in the lead actor in a drama and lead actress in a drama categories for their respective roles as Don Draper and Peggy Olson in Mad Men.
The hit AMC series is up for best drama against a host of other popular shows including Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey.
Modern Family also attracted several nominations, winning nods in the best comedy series, with stars Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara landing best supporting actress nods and Ed O’Neill, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet coming up trumps in the male equivalent.
Zooey Deschanel's turn in New Girl and Tina Fey's long-standing role in 30 Rock have put them in the running for best comedy actress. Alec Baldwin, Don Cheadle and Jon Cryer have all been nominated for the best comedy actor gong.
Luther, Sherlock and Game Change will battle it out for the best miniseries or movie accolade, while Dancing with the Stars and Project Runway have been named in the best competition reality show category.
The 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Kimmel and will air live on September 23 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
