Deputy Prime Minister Bill English will head to the US in the coming week for the 19th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders' meeting.
Mr English will join leaders from 21 APEC economies on November 13 in Honolulu to discuss the region's economic growth prospects.
Leaders will also talk about ways to advance APEC's vision for an Asia-Pacific-wide Free Trade Area.
APEC initiatives would make it "easier, cheaper and faster for New Zealand companies to do business in the region", Mr English said.
He is scheduled to leave for Honolulu on Friday.
Foreign Minister Murray McCully and Trade Minister Tim Groser will also travel to Hawaii to attend ministerial meetings as part of the leaders' week, running from November 8-13.
Mr McCully is to leave for Honolulu on Thursday and Mr Groser on Tuesday.
